Miller Lash House Wedding | Marla & Alex
Marla and Alex are a super sweet and kind couple, and it was such a pleasure to photograph their wedding day at Miller Lash House last summer. The venue is actually a bit of a hidden gem. It’s a romantic, cozy historic home, nestled on a beautifully landscaped property next to a river, at UofT Scarborough. Surprisingly you don’t hear its name too often, as far as GTA wedding venues go, but it’s definitely worth considering. The stone buildings covered in ivy, and sweeping outdoor spaces surrounded by trees certainly make for a beautiful backdrop. Each season has its highlights, with plenty of cherry trees blossoming in the spring, vibrant gardens in the summer, and beautiful leaves changing colour in the fall.
On their day, Marla got ready at her family home with a group of her closest friends. When she arrived at the venue she went to meet Alex for their first look. It was absolutely the sweetest moment. Alex’s reaction was priceless, and their love for each other was so palpable. Their ceremony took place outdoors, with a beautiful chuppah decorated by florist Suzanne Carlascio of Wildflowers. There was a fun surprise bubble canon moment during the ceremony, that also made an appearance on the dance floor later that night. I also enjoyed working with their videographers, Big Ticket Productions. The evening was so much fun, with a super energetic hora and live music by Saturday Night Jive. At sunset, we went out for a walk on the grounds and captured some really playful and romantic portraits. The evening ended with a lively dance party, including grandma and some more bubble fun. Here’s a peek at their wonderful Miller Lash House wedding.
